What Kind of Trails Can You Ride at Northstar Bike Park?
Northstar Bike Park features more than 50 miles of purpose-built trails that range from wide, flowing beginner routes to steep, technical descents filled with rock gardens, jumps, berms, and features designed to challenge experienced riders.
If you’re new to downhill mountain biking, we usually recommend starting on the beginner-friendly flow trails before gradually progressing to more advanced terrain. Riders with more experience will find plenty of opportunities to test their skills, while intermediate riders have enough variety to spend multiple days exploring different parts of the mountain.
Because the trail network is professionally maintained throughout the season, conditions are consistently excellent and easy to navigate.
Is Northstar Bike Park Good for Beginners?
Absolutely!
One of the reasons we recommend Northstar so often is because it’s one of the easiest places to learn lift-served mountain biking.Northstar offers camps and lessons for riders of all ages, while on-site rentals make it easy to travel without bringing your own equipment.
If you’re visiting Lake Tahoe specifically to experience downhill riding for the first time, booking a lesson is well worth it. We’ve found that guests who start with an instructor tend to feel more confident, improve more quickly, and enjoy the rest of their day on the mountain even more.
