Step back in time and celebrate Tahoe City’s rich history during this special community event featuring local museums, historic landmarks, and cultural partners.
In collaboration with the Gatekeeper’s Museum, Watson Cabin, SNOW Museum, TCDA, and the Placer County Heritage Trail, this celebration invites both locals and visitors to explore Tahoe City’s past through engaging exhibits, guided tours, and stories that bring the community’s history to life.
Event Highlights
11 AM | Dr. James Church Plaque Rededication Honor the legacy of Dr. James Church during a special plaque rededication ceremony located next to the Lake Tahoe Dam.
11 AM–4 PM | Free Museum Open Houses Enjoy complimentary admission, special activities, and unique experiences as part of the Placer County Heritage Trail.
Participating Locations Include: • Gatekeeper’s Museum – Open house featuring refreshments and live music from Old Souls • Watson Cabin – Explore one of Tahoe City’s historic treasures • SNOW Museum – Discover stories and exhibits celebrating the region’s heritage
1 PM | Historic Walking Tour Join Mountain Town Walking Tours for a guided stroll through Tahoe City’s historic district and uncover the stories behind some of the area’s most notable landmarks.
